Joeys

Our Joey section is currently in recess.

Joey Scouts is the first Section of Scouts, for girls and boys aged 5 – 7.5. The emphasis is on fun and friendship and a gentle introduction to a world of challenges and adventures through Scoutingjoeys2 (Medium).

Joeys are based around arts crafts and self development in a fun environment,  You will be amazed by your child and see them have a blast of a time. Parents are encouraged to stay for a while.

Joey Scouts meet each week as a Joey Scout Mob, and wear their Section’s uniform shirt, the scarf of 10th Caulfield Scout Group, and a woggle to hold their scarf together.

For our youngest members, the Joey Scout program nurtures a deeper understanding of the world around them, with a growing awareness of their surroundings and nature, by getting out and about in the community.

Joey Scouts can also earn badges through their activities.

A trained Joey Scout Leader guides a Joey Mob of up to 20 boys and girls as they learn to share and care for each other in a social environment. It’s more than school as it extends each child’s understanding of the world around them.

Joey Scouts are encouraged to express themselves creatively, through games, stories and craft activities. Building monsters and spaceships from scrap items, growing plants from seedlings or singing songs together all develop a strong sense of belonging.

Joey Scouts are taught to jump in and help other people and to share with their friends.

If you are interested in Joeys for your child (or you might be interested as a potential leader at 10th Caulfield) do make yourself known. If we have a few interested Joeys and a leader then Joeys may be rebooted.  Just email me groupleader@10thcaulfieldscouts.org.au.
