Youth Leadership Course

At the start of the school holidays, three of our Scouts, James, Ashley and Jess attended a weekend youth leadership course 3 hours from Melbourne at Brucknell Park Scout Camp near Warrnambool.

Scouting is about many things, but one thing that is highly valued is leadership and responsibility. Our older Scouts are given loads of responsibility and expected to lead their patrols and the troop. This weekend long course helps outfit our up and coming older scouts with the tools required to lead well, and to support and organise their patrols to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Tools we no doubt know they will find useful in their greater lives.

Many thanks to Gary and Shana for giving up a whole weekend to once again support our Scouts.

We even had a birth of some ducklings whilst we were there. Saturday they were eggs

…and Sunday they were hatched!!
